How Teacher and Student Sponsorships Work Liceo Nueva Vida is a Christian school serving children on the outskirts of Bogotá, operated by our partner, Fundación Karis. Student sponsorships and teacher sponsorships support the same work: keeping the school open, its classrooms staffed, and its tuition within reach of the families it serves. Sponsorship gifts are pooled with other sponsorship gifts and applied to the school's operating costs, including teaching staff. Your sponsorship is not a payment to or for any individual teacher or student; it is not compensation payable to any teacher, and it is not held in a separate account for any teacher or student. Your gift is made to Impact Initiatives, which retains full discretion and control over how the funds are used. We make every effort to apply your gift to the school. If the school's needs change, or if the program is fully funded or discontinued, our Board of Directors may apply your gift to another program serving the same general charitable purpose.If the teacher or student you sponsor is no longer at the school, we will let you know and offer to connect you with another. Your gifts remain with the program and continue to support the school's operations. Up to 12% of each gift is applied to the cost of administering our programs and operating the organization. Your gift supports an educational project in rural South Asia we are calling "New Life School - Rural South Asia" which is a school located in the heart of a rural, impoverished area of South Asia. The specific name of the school and its location are intentionally withheld due to persecution against Christians in this region. This school serves approximately 120 children ranging in age from 4 to 18 years old. The children come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some are orphans either through the death of a parent, the dysfunction of the family, or abandonment. Other children live at the school because their families are migrant workers and they want their children to have stability and to get a good education. Some of the children are from surrounding villages where their families want their children to receive a quality education and nurturing of their Christian faith. All of the children receive love and support from the staff of the school. Approximately half of the children live at the school for most of the year.  With the help of generous partners like you, Impact Initiatives is helping to pay for the costs of operating the school, pay for modest salaries of the dedicated staff, and maintain and improve the facilities of the school to benefit the children. Please consider making a donation to help with these expenses. Recurring donations are especially helpful as we seek to develop stable budgets to operate sustainable programs.   Donate Now to Help Children Attend Our Liceo Nueva Vida School.  In a community ravaged by poverty, crime, and dysfunction our school called Liceo Nueva Vida is providing children with the hope of Jesus Christ and equipping them to lead a life of joy, prosperity, and purpose. Our school is a refuge where they are nurtured with genuine love from teachers and staff who are dedicated in service to God and to these little ones entrusted to our care. As a child sponsor, you become part of our team to change the destiny of these children. You are investing in the future of their young minds and helping to create a brighter tomorrow. Liceo Nueva Vida is our "New Life School" that is breaking the cycle of poverty, violence and despair by providing excellent academic and Christian education to vulnerable and low-income children in the heart of a poor neighborhood of Bogotá, Colombia. The families or guardians of our students contribute a small part of the cost of school tuition. They must trust the generosity of our donors to provide the remaining cost of enrollment for Impact Initiatives to continue operating the school. Each family pays approximately USD $34 per month of the total tuition cost of USD $120 per month. We need a sponsor like you to continue contributing $43 each month to help cover the cost of tuition for each student. Additional funds are raised through grants and donations from individuals, businesses and organizations to completely pay for the cost of the child's education at Liceo Nueva Vida. If the child you sponsor leaves the school, we will let you know and offer to introduce you to another student. Your gifts remain with the program and continue to support enrolled children. Pastor Jordan Orozco and his amazing church called Vida Church (Life Church) minister the gospel and love of Jesus Christ to the people of Soacha, Colombia in a unique and creative way to the people of one of the largest slums in the world. Through the use of art, music, dance, sports, and education, Pastor Jordan and his team are engaging children and young people to discover the fullness of who they can be in Christ.
